Univa Africa Technologies Limited was shaped by a clear vision: solving the everyday challenges of rapid urbanization, climate shifts, and harsh ambient heat in modern smart cities.
When our Founder and CEO, Simon Kioi, transitioned to Qatar in January 2025, he experienced firsthand the punishing impact of extreme high temperatures in fast-growing urban environments. He noted how soaring heat and the absence of immediate outdoor hydration infrastructure disrupted daily productivity, mobility, and community health.
Traditional urban layouts often fail to provide convenient access to refreshing beverages, leaving people vulnerable to dehydration and long, exhausting walks just to secure basic relief. This lived reality inspired the inception of our flagship initiative: the Refresh Me Network—building smart, resilient automated infrastructure designed to keep cities cool, connected, and hydrated.
